1. How a Xenon HID kit works
An Xenon HID lamp does not use a filament as a common halogen. The light is generated by a controlled electric discharge inside the lamp. To start and maintain this discharge properly, a control unit serves, also called Ballast, capable of handling voltage, current and stability during ignition and operation.
The result depends on the whole system: lamp, ballast, wiring, connectors, mass, power supply, lighthouse and adjustment. A good lamp mounted on a mediocre control unit cannot offer the same result as a complete properly designed system.
2. Digital and canbus are not the same thing
What does digital ballast mean
"Digital" describes the internal electronics of the control unit. A modern digital ballast controls ignition and operation through advanced electronic circuits, normally offering greater stability, more controlled boot, flicker reduction, better efficiency and more precise protections than the old analogue control units.
What does CANBUS mean
"CANBUS" instead describes the level of compatibility with vehicle light control systems. A well designed canbus control unit helps reduce burned lamp lights, flashes, switch-offs, diagnostic pulses and anomalies caused by electronic absorption control.
Can they coexist?
Yes. A ballast can be digital without being a dedicated canbus line, or digital and canbus together. The best combination for the most sensitive vehicles is a good digital electronics with evolved canbus management.
In the Xenon HID kit market it is frequent to find listings that use terms at the same time as Digital, analog, canbus, super canbus, full canbus, canbus 2.0, canbus 3.0 and other commercial definitions, often reported together as if they describe a single electronics. In most cases these wordings do not correspond to recognized technical standards and are used to bring up the most evolved product than it is really.
A ballast cannot be analogous and digital at the same time. Similarly, expressions like Super Canbus, Full Canbus, 2.0 or 3.0 they do not identify an official standard or guarantee higher quality, reliability or compatibility.
To consciously choose to distinguish between analogue and digital electronics, real canbus management, ballast construction, internal components, insulation, wiring and connectors. It is also important to pay attention to the old and potentially problematic solutions DC or ACC, still present in economic products, sometimes combined with wiring and KET connectors not adequate to modern quality Xenon lines.
Even the promise "compatible with all cars" is not realistic: each vehicle can have different controls and electronic reactions. 3. Why a digital kit can also work on a modern car
The need of the canbus does not only depend on the year of the vehicle. A good updated digital kit can work properly on recent cars with relatively simple light management. On the contrary, some BMWs, Audi and Volkswagen also unrollers can have very sensitive checks and request an advanced canbus line or a specific solution.
It is therefore not correct to say "old car = digital" and "new car = canbus". It counts the behavior of the control unit Lights: control control, cold or hot pulses, PWM, automatic shutdown, diagnosis and electronic tolerances.

5. 35W or 55W: How to choose

The values are indicative and can vary based on lamp, color, control unit, voltage, lighthouse and installation. The 55W is not automatically better in every situation: on small, delicate or poorly ventilated headlights can be more prudent than 35W.
6. Xenon for motorcycles and scooters
Motorcycles and scooters require special attention to space, vibrations, waterproofing, absorption in start-up and stability of the plant. Fuzion offers dedicated lines with compact control units, suitable wiring and digital or canbus solutions according to the vehicle.
On a bike it is not enough to check the lamp attack. You need to check:
- space behind the lighthouse;
- type of power supply and battery stability;
- presence of one or two headlights;

- on-board electronics and possible lamp controls.
On scooters with compact systems or particular power it is important to check the compatibility before buying.
7. Xenon for trucks and 24V vehicles
On heavy vehicles Fuzion offers only selected lines of high level. Trucks, buses, work vehicles and modern 24V vehicles use advanced electronic systems, work many hours and require higher stability.
A 12V control unit should not be used on 24V. The dedicated lines must correctly manage voltage, vibrations, prolonged use and electronic controls of the vehicle. For professional use it is preferable to choose the most robust and compatible solution, not simply the cheapest one.
on trucks and 24V the reliability comes before the price. A stop, a night failure or an unstable light can cost much more than the difference between a generic product and a professional line.
8. AC electronics, high voltage wiring and amp connectors
The Xenon Fuzion lines use AC electronics and wiring designed to manage high voltages of the HID system. The AMP connectors represent the standard used on the range spare lamps and allow sorted and replaceable connections.
Old DC solutions or non-standardized connections can offer less stability, greater irregular lamp wear and more variable quality. For this fume does not base its range on obsolete technologies presented with confused business names.

As the color temperature increases the light can appear colder, but visibility does not automatically increases. On 55W the same lamp can appear slightly clearer than 35W.
12. Correct installation

- Fix Ballast and wiring away from heat, water and moving parts.
